Essie Haute as Hello and Just Shine Super Sparkle Purple - Last Hurrah of Summer Week

Happy weekend to you all! I have a super quick post for you all today, as I'm on my way out the door for class. This is the last day of my Last Hurrah of Summer Week, I hope you've all enjoyed it!

~~~~
First up is Just Shine Super Sparkle Purple. This is the first polish my husband ever picked out for me all by himself so it is very special for me! He picked it up last weekend when he was at Justice (a tween clothing store) picking up a gift for our niece.
This polish is amazeballs!!! I have been wearing it for the past 4 days and I don't think I've ever gotten more compliments on a polish in my life. It is a bright neon purple with tons of iridescent glitter scattered throughout. I mean, let's be real, what is better than neon AND glitter?! Since it is a neon, I layered it over a coat of white. It has worn pretty well for a neon, no major chips and only some minor tipwear. Color me impressed!
Sadly, I could not capture the awesome of this polish in photos. I tried about 20 different lighting situations and camera settings and I even tried to color correct in Photoshop. Nothing worked. So you will have to trust me on this one. It is not nearly as pink or as light as the pictures show. It is a deep, vibrant neon purple, very similar to Color Club Mrs. Robinson but with GLITTA!!! Why must neons be so difficult to photograph?! Anyways, major thanks to the hubby for picking this out for me!! <3 <3
Here's 2 coats of Just Shine Super Sparkle Purple over white. Enjoy! (And imagine this much more vibrant and purple in real life!)
And finally we have Essie Haute as Hello. Haute as Hello is a neon pastel peach creme. I chose to do this one for the Last Hurrah of Summer week because it reminded me a lot of those neon pastel Lime Crime polishes that came out this summer! There is something so cool about a polish that can be pastel yet neon at the same time. LOVE THIS! I didn't have any problems with the formula, and pictured is a smooth 3 coats. I bet it would look amazing on tanned skin!
Here's 3 coats of Essie Haute as Hello.
What do you guys think of these polishes? What are your go-to summer colors?
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you've all enjoyed these bright and summery polishes! See you all tomorrow =)
Orly Glowstick - Last Hurrah of Summer Week
Happy Friday everyone!! For me, Friday means an evening class and then early to bed for my Saturday morning class. Yuck!! But anyways, I figured that my Last Hurrah of Summer Week wouldn't be complete without an eye-searing neon so I chose the brightest one of them all - Orly Glowstick!!
Orly Glowstick is a SUPER BRIGHT neon yellow. It's a bit green-leaning, and is pretty much the color of a yellow highlighter. I layered 2 coats of Glowstick over a white creme, because layering neons over white helps them pop more. Also, without the white, Glowstick was a bit sheer and I probably would have had visible nail lines with it. The formula on this was surprisingly good, no complaints here! Glowstick is the perfect summer color, it looks great on tanned skin (which I do not have, lol) and reminds me of the glowsticks that we always bring on camping trips!
Without further ado, here is 2 coats of Orly Glowstick over one coat of white. It's hard to capture the brightness of neons in photos, but I've done my best. Just imagine what you see here, but 10 times brighter!
Thanks for stopping by!! See you all tomorrow for the conclusion of Last Hurrah of Summer Week!
BB Couture Man Bug - Last Hurrah of Summer Week
Good morning everyone, and happy Thursday!! Quick post for today, I'm running a bit late this morning. Today I have for you another summery polish, BB Couture Man Bug. Man Bug is a bit more understated than the past few polishes that I've done for the Last Hurrah series, but I think it screams summer just the same!
BB Couture Man Bug is an aqua jelly with tons of microglitter throughout. It is pretty sheer, and after 3 coats I still had a bit of VNL (visible nail line).  Because of this translucence, Man Bug is reminiscent of a sparkling aqua ocean and beautifully weathered sea glass. I can definitely see myself sporting this color on my next tropical vacation!
Here's 3 coats of BB Couture Man Bug. Enjoy!
What do you guys think of Man Bug? Is it a yay or nay for you?
Thanks for stopping by today, see you all tomorrow!
Terrybly By Terry Eccentric Vermilion - Last Hurrah of Summer Week
Happy Hump Day everyone!! Today I have another great summery polish for you all, Terrybly By Terry Eccentric Vermilion!
By Terry is a high-end French cosmetics brand (on par with Chantecaille, La Mer, YSL, etc.) that I probably would have never bought for myself, but my mom picked up this amazing shade for me on her most recent trip to Europe and I have fallen in love with it! Eccentric Vermilion is a gorgeous bright orange-leaning red creme. The formula was literally flawless, it practically painted itself. It was easily one of the best formulas I have ever experienced on a nail polish but for $30 a pop, you would kind of expect that. I was definitely blown away!
This is the perfect summer red! It's bright, warm and vibrant, reminds me of salsa dancing on the beach, exotic printed pareos and delicious poolside cocktails. I will wear this polish again and again and again for sure.
Here's two coats of Terrybly By Terry Eccentric Vermilion. Enjoy!
What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!! See you all tomorrow with another Last Hurrah of Summer polish =)
China Glaze Limonyte - Last Hurrah of Summer Week
Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend =) If you were wondering, OUR WIENER DOGS BOTH WON FIRST PLACE IN THEIR HEATS AT THE RACES!! We have been doing this for 5 years now and neither of them has ever won so it was super exciting! They were both eliminated in the final rounds, but we took home two shiny blue ribbons this year. Yay for UZI and Arrow!! So proud of my little weens =)
~~~~

Anyways, back to blogging business! Fall is upon us but I still find myself reaching for brights and neons all the time. I figured this would be the time to get the rest of the summer out of my system and do lots of fun, bright and summery colors for this week! Hence, the Last Hurrah of Summer Week is born!

First up is one of my all-time favorite polishes, China Glaze Limonyte. Limonyte is from the 2005 Nervy Neons collection and is long discontinued and extremely difficult to find. It is one of the most sought after polishes in the nail community and was one of my very first lemmings! I finally found it on eBay awhile ago for a STEAL and scooped it right up. Limonyte is lusted after by many, and for good reason - it is PHENOMENAL!! It is a neon green packed with yellow-gold shimmer. There are many similar polishes out there but none of them GLOW quite like Limonyte does =)

It is quite sheer, so it took 4 coats to reach opacity. Another caveat of this polish is the drying time. It takes foreverrrrrrrrr to dry. I honestly did not even leave it on for long enough to see how long it would take to dry completely. This might be one of those polishes that I would do a few hours before bedtime and give it all night to dry. You know me, 4 coats and super long drying time does not stop me from loving such an amazing polish!

Here's 4 coats of China Glaze Limonyte. Don't forget to click these babies to enlarge, you won't regret it! Enjoy =)

Thanks for stopping by today!! See you all tomorrow for another Last Hurrah of Summer polish!

OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest

Happy Labor Day weekend to all of my fellow Americans, and happy weekend to everyone else!! For my family, Labor Day weekend means one thing: OKTOBERFEST!! Our county fair does Oktoberfest every year on Labor Day Weekend and we make sure to go every year. Sure we love the beer and the festivities, but the real reason why we go is the wiener dog races!! As most of you probably know, the hubby and I are the proud owners of two adorable wiener dogs so we of course have to participate in the races! The forecast is calling for rain and storms all day today but the races are inside so hopefully they will still go forward as planned.

For Oktoberfest weekend, of COURSE I had to do OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest!! Every Month is Oktoberfest is from OPI's fall 2012 Germany collection, and in mu opinion, is one of the standouts of the entire line. It is a super dark, vampy purple shimmer. In some lights it looks blue toned, but in other lights it looks red toned. It is pure amazeballs. Vampy colors are perfect for fall, and this is probably one of the best vampy shades I've seen in quite some time. The formula was perfect as most OPIs are these days.

I had a problem capturing the purple tones of this polish indoors so I took these pics in full sunlight. Here's 2 coats of Every Month is Oktoberfest. Enjoy!!

And here are the videos of our weens racing in 2008, the first year we did the races. Please excuse my mom's hysterical laughter throughout UZI's video =)

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze I'm Not Lion

Happy Friday afternoon everyone! Sorry I'm so late with this post, school is only a week in and kicking my ass already. Six classes is no joke. MERP. I've been behind with blog reading, so I'm sorry if I haven't stopped by this week, I plan on catching up over the weekend!

Today I have for you the only polish that I picked up from the China Glaze On Safari, I'm Not Lion. I've been super disappointed with China Glaze's collections lately, which is odd because they are usually my favorite brand. Nevertheless, I'm Not Lion is an AMAZING glitter polish that I think everyone should have in their stash! Definitely the standout in the collection for me.

I'm Not Lion is a cool-toned gold glitter with holo bits in it!! I just absolutely LOVE the color of this, it is not yellow-toned at all and is neutral enough to be worn by every skin tone. There is so much holo glitter in this that when you are looking at the bottle, you can see full rainbows like you would in legit holo polishes. It's just PACKED with the stuff! Another awesome thing about I'm Not Lion is that it is fully opaque in 2 coats! I love 2 coat glitters. Application was a breeze, it dried smooth with only one layer of topcoat and overall was just a dream to wear.

Here's 2 coats of China Glaze I'm Not Lion with top coat.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday night!
