Kleancolor Metallic Aqua

Happy Monday everyone!! Just wanted to pop in with some quick swatches today. If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know that I have a slight obsession with Kleancolor Metallic polishes. I have swatched about half of the ones that I have so far and I wanted to do another one today. Today's color is Metallic Aqua, an amazing metallic aqua polish.

The swatches below are 2 coats with topcoat. The use of topcoat really seems to make these polishes come alive, it's hard to explain unless you've seen it for yourself. Topcoat will deepen the color and on some, make the color appear even more metallic. So cool! These polishes are available on Beauty Joint for $1.75 a piece so they are some of the least expensive polishes that I own. They're great for stamping as well!

Here's a quick pros and cons list regarding Kleancolor Metallics-

CONS:
- Take forever to dry, even with a quick dry top coat
- Due to the metallic finish, they will show every flaw on your nail
- Stain the CRAP out of your nails and surrounding skin, even with multiple layers of base coat (UPDATED TO ADD: Just removed Metallic Aqua, it did not stain at all!)

PROS:
- Dirt cheap
- AMAZEBALLS

I don't know about you, but I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons here =) So here's 2 coats of Kleancolor Metallic Aqua, in various lighting situations. Don't forget to click to enlarge =)

What do you think? Do you own any Kleancolor Metallics?
Thanks for stopping by!

Kleancolor Metallic Green

Quick post today!

Here's Kleancolor Metallic Green. Are you sick of these yet? I know I'm not! Metallic Green is probably my favorite of all the metallics. It's a glowy, amazingly metallic lime green. Application is easy, dry time is a bit longer but that's pretty standard for these polishes.

Here's two coats of Kleancolor Metallic Green with one coat of Seche Vite. Enjoy!

Don't own any Kleancolor Metallics yet? Stay tuned, you may get the chance to own a few =)

See you all tomorrow!

Kleancolor Metallic Red & Red Velvet

Happy Monday my lovely readers! It's cold and rainy here in the CLE, so I hope you all are fairing a bit better in the weather department. The husband and I finally started decorating for Christmas yesterday. We did our fireplace mantle with our nutcrackers and stockings and put up a few of the smaller artificial trees that we have. So I guess you could say that I am feeling a little but more in the holiday spirit. Because of that, I was inspired to do another Christmas-y manicure for you guys today =)

I decided on Kleancolor Metallic Red. Now, you guys already know how impressed I am with this collection of polishes. If I had to do a top 20 polishes of all time, 5 or so spots would probably be occupied by these Kleancolor Metallics. They are really that awesome. You guys have seen the Metallic Orange and Metallic Pink (which by the way, stains terribly upon removal) so I figured I'd throw in Metallic Red today. It is and AMAZING glowy, "lit from within" red that is perfect for the holidays.

After taking pictures, I decided to throw on a coat of Essie's Matte About You. And wow, am I glad that I did because it looks awesome! Mattifying this polish turns it into an amazing red velvet color. Ahhh! You guys, it seriously looks so cool! I can't decide which way I like the polish better, with regular topcoat or with matte topcoat. One one hand, there is nothing like a shiny, glowy red - but on the other hand, the matte topcoat makes it look like one of those velvet Christmas bows. Either way, it is a perfect holiday color and I'm pretty sure that I will do this manicure again before the holidays are over.

This color was ultra hard to photograph, especially because I couldn't get any natural light in this rain. I need to ask Santa for a better indoor light to take pictures! Anways, here is 2 coats of Kleancolor Metallic Red with 1 coat of Seche Vite on top.

And here is 2 coats of Metallic Red with 1 coat of Essie Matte About You.

So what do you guys think? Which way do you like better - shiny or matte?

Thanks for stopping by everyone, see you all tomorrow =D

Pink Wednesday: Kleancolor Metallic Pink a.k.a. The Most Awesome Pink Ever!

Good afternoon my fellow polish nerds!! Today I have for you Kleancolor Metallic Pink, which is probably the most incredible pink nail polish I have ever seen in my life. If you saw my post last month on Kleancolor's Metallic Orange, you know how amazing these polishes are. They are the most saturated, pigmented foil polishes on the market. The best part is, they will only set you back about $2 a pop. How awesome is that?

Kleancolor Metallic Pink was so awesome, in fact, that it broke my camera! Not literally of course, but I tried about a million different settings and not one was able to capture how truly amazing this polish is. The best way I found to take this was with a diffused flash, but because the polish is SO metallic, the reflection of the flash still is bothering me. This way gave the most true representation of the color though, so please try to bear with me.

Metallic Pink was a breeze to apply; I could have just stuck with one coat but I did two for good measure. These Kleancolor Metallics are some of the funniest polishes I have ever worked with in my life. Funny in a good way, that is. They are awesome straight out of the bottle, but when you put the top coat on, it does something to the polish to really make it glow. And I mean GLOW. I could probably flag down traffic with these babies. If I was stranded on a desert island, and could only take a few polishes with me, a Kleancolor Metallic would most definitely be in there.

So, here is the pink so awesome that it broke my camera: Kleancolor Metallic Pink. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! I'm off to get my pie baking on. See you all tomorrow =)

XOXO

Kleancolor Metallic Orange: Swatches and Review

Holy crap, you guys. This is probably the most amazing orange nail polish I have ever seen in my life. It is so wonderfully shiny and glowy, I can't even handle it. It's a perfect orange for Halloween season as well. This orange is part of the Kleancolor Metallic line, which has taken a spot in my top 5 collections of all time. All of the metallic polishes that I have tried in this line are outstanding, I can't wait to show you the rest of them. You will be amazed.

I have a lot of nail polish. Really, I do. More than you probably think I have. So it really takes a lot for me to be amazed when it comes to nail polish these days. Most of the collections that people are fawning over these days (coughOPIMuppetscough) fail to impress me even the slightest bit. The fact that Metallic Orange made me gasp when I was applying it, really says something about this polish. It's truly unique, amazing and a MUST HAVE for your collection. In fact, every Kleancolor Metallic I have tried is a winner. And again, for $1.75 a bottle, what have you got to lose?

The application on this polish was flawless. FLAWLESS I TELL YOU! I did two coats because I was photographing, but in real life this is definitely a one coat polish. These photos are no cleanup at all. No cleanup!! Thats how smoothly and evenly this stuff went on. The only gripe I have with this polish is that the dry time is very long. It definitely does not have normal dry time, even with a quick dry top coat like Seche Vite. I'd say it was dry to the touch in 5 minutes, and a good 20 minutes before it was dry enough for me to start using my hands again. And yes, that was with my quick dry top coat. But for how awesome this polish is, I really don't care how long the dry time is.

Lots of pics in lots of different lighting situations so you can get a good idea of what it really looks like:

This is my perfect, glowy autumn orange and it is perfect for Halloween!! Hope you enjoyed the 80 bajillion pics I took of Kleancolor Metallic Orange =) Have a fantastic day everyone!

Kleancolor Holo Chrome!

Good morning everyone! Fall has finally kicked in here, its cloudy, gloomy and chilly - just how I like it! Sunshine and warmth is way overrated =) Well, except when you are in Hawaii. Did I ever mention how Hawaii is my favorite place on Earth? But even in Hawaii it rains all the time so I guess it can't be sunny all the time there either.

But, I digress. Today I have for you a very blingy manicure: Kleancolor Holo Chrome. I got my first shipment of Kleancolors in the mail yesterday and so far, I am extremely impressed! I purchased them from beautyjoint.com, and they were $1.75 a piece. $1.75 is probably the cheapest you will pay for good nail polish anywhere, even drugstore polishes are generally in the $5-$10 dollar range these days (unless you count Sinful Colors, but I don't because I'm not really a fan of their products). So anyone on a budget who wants to try some unique colors should definitely give Kleancolor a try!

One word of warning about Kleancolors though: they stink! The smell on these is very strong, something akin to the chemical laden polishes of the olden days. From what I gather from the ingredients label, this polish is toulene and DBP (dibutyl phtalate) free but does contain formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin so that is probably where the strong smell is coming from. You will come to learn that I have a penchant for very old, vintage polishes so the smell does not bother me one bit.

Holo Chrome is a fantastically beautiful nail polish! It is a blue-violet (also known as blurple) jelly with tons of holo micro glitter. I used three coats of it in the photos, but you can also layer it over another polish to make it more opaque that way. Application was average, the Kleancolor brush was a bit wider and floppier than normal so it made it a bit more difficult to apply thin and even coats. I really don't mind though, because for a $1.75 polish it is absolutely gorgeous and a little bit of difficulty in the application doesn't bother me. I can't stop starting at my nails, Holo Chrome is so damn awesome!

I nicked one of my nails when I was taking photos, so unfortunately the photo selection I have for you guys today isn't my best. I hope you can get a feel for how sparkly and beautiful this polish really is. So I hope you enjoy the ones I was able to take =)

First I have one taken outdoors in natural light to show you the true color of Holo Chrome:

The rest were taken in artificial light to show you the blingtastic-ness of this polish!

And don't forget to click on the pics to englarge them =)

Hope everyone is having a fanastic Friday!
